Chief Coordinator, Nasarawa Entrepreneurs Summit (NES) Mrs Stella Ajige, on Saturday harped on imbibing entrepreneurship’ culture for self-reliance to reduce over dependency on government for white collar jobs.

Ajige, who is also Managing Director, SKDC Global Links limited, said this in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lafia, ahead of NES summit scheduled to hold between July 18 and 19.

She said that the second edition of NES, targeting 1, 000 entrepreneurs and business owners from across the state, would among other things feature series of inspirational talk shows and lectures on entrepreneurship.

She said the two-day summit would also serve as a platform for connectivity between youths, entrepreneurs and other role models that could lead young people on the path of greatness; as well as mentor them.

Ajige said the summit would bring to the front burner the need for entrepreneurs and business owners to embrace new technology.

She said this would help them build novel ideas that would add value to their immediate environment and the economy at large.

“We cannot continue to rely on government for white collar jobs that are never enough to go round; we should as a matter of fact embrace the culture of entrepreneurship to reduce over dependency on government.

“The NES will tackle how to expand, spread business tentacles; and how to evolve beyond boundaries’ limitations by leveraging on awareness of 4th industrial revolutions.

“It is on this basis that we are tagging our summit for the year 2019 “Entrepreneurship and the Economy, Think, Build, Evolve”.

“There is an urgent need to close up this huge gap and put our country on the map, starting with Nasarawa State, as we transit into a technology driven economy,” she said.

Ajige, while thanking Nasarawa State Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Cooperative, as well as other partners for the 2018 Edition, said the 2019 summit was open for partnership.

She explained that the summit was aimed at discussing challenges facing entrepreneurs in Nasarawa State and beyond; and to enlighten them on how to create their own support systems in order to address such issues.

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Nasarawa Entrepreneurs Summit is the brain child of SKDC global links limited, based in Lafia, currently championing entrepreneurship in the state and beyond.
